I’m really tired of this new craze making its way around the internet of humans forcing animals to ride surf boards. Seriously, wtf.

Is it Really Vegan?
By Ashley Strain With all of the non-dairy, no-animal-product choices supermarkets now offer being a vegan has never been so easy before, right? Wrong! Many vegans don’t know it but a lot of products that seem vegan actually contain animal products such as eggs or milk. Companies get away with labeling and advertising their products as vegan because there is no government regulation requiring...

Call Me a Rebel
by Charlene Laney My dad always complains, “A vegan diet is more expensive than a regular one.” By regular, I’m assuming he means the Standard American Diet (SAD). Could this be because SAD is comprised of mostly animal products, produced with cruel/cheap methods to gain the most profit? Sad. Sure, a vegan diet containing the same amount of food as an omnivorous equivalent may be more...

How was the length? Was the issue too long or too short? What did you think about the mix of content (i.e. ratio of articles to recipes to other types, etc.)? Any other thoughts...

"Vegan-" vs "Animal-"
I’ve recently realized that the term “vegan-friendly” probably isn’t the most appropriate way to describe foods or other items that are vegan. I think a more appropriate term would be “animal-friendly.” To me the former term implies that the vegan is the one who should be catered to because of their seemingly ascetic lifestance. I feel like this is deceiving...

Trip to the Asian Food Market
I stopped by the local Asian food market with my friend Charlene tonight. Overall it was a great place to go to, with lots and lots of foods I’ve never seen before. There were so many things there I wanted to buy and learn how to use in the kitchen. It was great. Wanting to see as much as I could, I walked over to the butcher/fish monger area and took a look at the fish. There were a bunch...
